Economics

Background to this section

Return to the Economics list

This section is concerned with the economic and financial impacts of the treatment of the Roma by mainstream society in terms of the impacts on the Roma themselves, on the general economic and financial performance of the economy as well as the overall significance of these impacts on the European economy.

In broad terms this section deals with the costs of racial discrimination. This is something which can definitely be measured in quantitative terms as opposed to being relegated to the realms of imprecise sociological and ethnic studies per se.

Besides work undertaken by ECRE, we will be posting addition work developed by the Agricultural Development Foundation (ADF) as well as SEEL, Systems Engineering Economics Lab, which in August 2003, absorbed the ADF as an operational division of SEEL.
